We are looking for our first London Tree Ring Director

13th January 2025

This winter, CPRE London is looking for a director to lead its London Tree Ring Project, after receiving £50,000 in funding

Following a major contribution from CPRE National, we are thrilled to be in a position to recruit our first Tree Ring Director. The chosen candidate will spearhead the ambitious 25-year vision to create an M25 of nature encircling the capital.

CPRE London and its partners aim to achieve this through influencing local plans and strategies, linking landowners to funding and support on planting or expanding wooded areas, mobilising community groups and flagging opportunities for land purchase or leasing to relevant parties to protect existing treescapes, undertake tree planting or rewild.

Real impact

This is an opportunity to bring your vision, strategic thinking and management skills to provide strong leadership to affect meaningful change for our planet. You could make a real impact in areas such as carbon capture and storage, urban cooling, air and water quality improvement, flood risk reduction and provision of locally grown wood and food.

We are looking for someone with strong advocacy skills to be the public face of the London Tree Ring Project. You will ideally have a background in delivering large-scale land management projects, with a familiarity with regulatory frameworks and an ability to handle and analyse diverse data.

Reporting to CPRE London’s Director and the Tree Ring Steering Group, you will be involved with managing dedicated volunteers and handling relationships with landowners and our organisational partners and stakeholders,. Part of the role will include building diverse and sustainable income from a wide range of funding sources.
